Wright’s Tender Meats (“we”, “us”) is a family butcher at 90 Wrights Road, Kellyville NSW 2155. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, wrightstendermeats.com, and our app for iPhone, iPad and Android, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you place an order — on our website, or through our app, whose checkout is our website’s checkout — we collect:
- your name, email address and, if you choose to give it, your phone number
- your delivery or billing address
- what you ordered, the pickup date and time or delivery you chose, and any note you add to your order
- payment details. Card payments are processed by our payment provider, WooPayments (powered by Stripe), and your card details go straight to them — we never see or store your full card number. Stripe’s privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy. You can also choose to pay cash on delivery.
When you visit our website, we also collect:
- basic technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you visit
- how you arrived at our site (for example, from a search engine or a social media link), which is recorded with your order
- information from cookies, described under Cookies below
In our app:
- your basket and a copy of our product list are stored on your device only. We don’t receive them until you go to checkout.
- there is no account or login, and the app doesn’t use advertising or analytics tools or access your location, contacts or photos
- the app downloads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your device’s IP address when it does
How we use your information
- to prepare your order and have it ready for pickup, or to deliver it
- to contact you about your order, including if an item is unavailable
- to take payment and to prevent fraud
- to keep the records we’re required to keep by law, such as tax records
- to understand how our website is used, so we can improve it
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the services we need to run the shop:
- WooCommerce, WordPress and Jetpack (Automattic) — our online store and website statistics
- WooPayments and Stripe — card payments and fraud prevention
- Hostinger — our website hosting and, if you subscribe, our email sign-up service
- Google — the fonts used by our app
Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. We only use providers that protect personal information with appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to keep your cart and checkout working, to remember your choices, to collect visitor statistics, and to help our payment provider prevent fraud. We don’t use advertising or social media tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout won’t work without them.
Marketing emails
If you sign up to receive emails from us, we’ll use your email address to send them. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe, and we stop straight away when you do.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them to run the business and to meet our legal obligations — generally five years for tax records. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Our website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and card details are handled by our payment provider rather than stored by us.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we’re not required to keep it. Contact us using the details below and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Children
Our shop isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Complaints
If you’re concerned about how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first and we’ll try to resolve it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
